Greene Espel Wins Trial for Client City of Rochester, Minnesota

After a seven-day trial, a court in southern Minnesota has resolved every disputed factual question in favor of Greene Espel’s client, the City of Rochester, and its co-defendant. John Baker and Monte Mills defended the City against charges of alleged irregularities in the bidding process used to award the City’s bus-service contract to the co-defendant instead of the plaintiff. Greene Espel had previously prevailed at the trial court and on appeal on all of the plaintiff’s other claims.  Monte Mills is quoted in this Rochester Post Bulletin article regarding the win.

As members of Greene Espel’s appellate practice and government and constitutional litigation practice, John and Monte regularly represent individuals and entities in state and federal appellate courts. John, Monte, and many of the firm’s appellate attorneys are former judicial clerks and hold leadership positions with the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Council, the Eighth Circuit Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. Our government and constitutional litigation attorneys regularly evaluate and litigate the constitutionality of state laws and local regulations. Greene Espel is honored to have brought its experience to bear for its client in this important case.
