Greene Espel attorney Pam VanderWiel demonstrated her commitment to public service by assisting a woman fleeing violent political and clan-based persecution in Somalia to obtain asylum in the United States. Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights referred the case to Greene Espel when the Board of Immigration Appeals affirmed an immigration court's decision denying asylum. Thanks to Pam's advocacy, the Eighth Circuit reversed the Board's decision and the client was later granted asylum.
