When founding our firm, we insisted on describing ourselves as "attorneys and counselors." We did so to emphasize the opportunities to resolve conflicts in settings other than courtrooms: in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations. Our most respected attorneys are often called on as mediators and arbitrators to apply their respected judgment to encourage settlement or to resolve disputes through these alternative processes.
