Greene Espel congratulates Larry Shapiro on his receipt of the Cardozo Society's 2018 Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award

Greene Espel proudly applauds Larry Shapiro, who receives the 2018 Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award at the annual Cardozo Society Dinner on November 1, 2018. The Cardozo Society is an affinity group of Jewish lawyers, jurists, and law students advancing the philanthropic, social and educational mission of the St. Paul and Minneapolis Jewish Federations. The Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award is given to individuals in recognition of their dedication to the Federation’s mission, their commitment to the well-being of the Jewish and general communities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, their professional accomplishments, and their devotion to lifelong learning.

In his legal practice, Larry has been managing complex litigation since 1981, and he has earned a reputation as one of the State's preeminent business litigators. He serves as lead litigation counsel in Minnesota and throughout the United States for national corporations, accounting firms, banks, reinsurers, real estate developers, closely-held businesses, and individuals. Larry has earned numerous courtroom victories and professional honors. His greatest reward, however, is more personal. Larry is a valued confidant to the inner management circle for many clients.

Larry’s commitment to the community includes serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Phillips Eye Institute Foundation, the foundation for the second largest surgical eye care hospital in the United States. He also served as Vice President of Temple Israel, and as Past President of the Sholom Community Alliance, and the Community Housing & Service Corporation. Throughout his career, Larry has provided mentorship to up and coming lawyers, and pro bono services to underserved populations in the Twin Cities.
