Greene Espel is one of six law firms ranked in the top tier of “highly recommended” litigation firms in the state of Minnesota, according to the just-released 2013 edition of Benchmark Litigation. The Benchmark guide describes firms in the “highly recommended” category as “dominant in their particular jurisdiction.”
In achieving the “highly recommended” status, Benchmark notes that Greene Espel “garnered wide acclaim from peer firms in the Twin Cities.” Indeed, one competitor described Greene Espel in the guide as “a boutique litigation firm that is loaded with top-notch lawyers.”
In addition to rating firms, the 2013 Benchmark
guide recognizes 48 “local litigation stars” – individual lawyers who were “recommended consistently” by clients and peers. Four Greene Espel lawyers – Cliff Greene
, Larry Espel
, Andy Luger (former attorney), and John Ursu
– made the list. Benchmark noted that Cliff got “consistent nods from peers” for his practice. The guide recognized Larry’s general commercial, environmental, product liability, and construction litigation practices, and singled out Andy’s white-collar criminal practice for acclaim. John Ursu, who moved up the ranks this year from future star to local litigation star, was described by competitors as “extremely eloquent.”
Benchmark generates its rankings by conducting a review of case work and interviewing clients and lawyers to rate litigation firms in all 50 states.
