Minnesota Lawyer selected attorneys Jeanette Bazis and Sybil Dunlop as 2025 "Top Women in the Law" honorees. Minnesota Lawyer’s Top Women in Law recognition honors industry-leading attorneys for their outstanding contributions and dedication to the legal profession, their communities, and society at large.

An experienced and highly regarded employment and business litigator, negotiator, and strategist, Jeanette Bazis is one of the Twin Cities’ go-to senior litigators. Her approach combines incisive legal strategy with a deep understanding of client objectives, consistently delivering victories in high-stakes disputes. Her reputation for tactical excellence has made her the go-to counsel for complex litigation and sensitive internal investigations. Clients repeatedly call on Jeanette as their lead counsel, because she works to understand their goals and crafts tailored strategies to reach those goals effectively and efficiently. 

Jeanette is also a leader in the community, with a particular focus on mentoring women and promoting diversity in the legal profession. She has served as President of the Infinity Project, whose mission is to increase the gender diversity of the state and federal bench in the Eighth Circuit. Jeanette is also co-founder and co-Chair of the University of Minnesota Law School Alumnae Network, whose mission is to foster an inclusive community and provide unique opportunities for women students and graduates to stay connected with the Law School, grow their personal and professional networks, continue their professional development, and participate in philanthropic and volunteer opportunities at Minnesota Law. 

Sybil Dunlop is a formidable lead trial attorney who navigates clients through high-stakes business disputes with strategic precision and a track record of successful outcomes. Sybil brings extensive first-chair trial and arbitration experience to complex commercial litigation. Recognized by organizations including Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers, she has been named "Attorney of the Year" three times by Minnesota Lawyer. Her meticulous contract analysis and persuasive advocacy have secured favorable outcomes in disputes including breach of contract claims, complex business torts, and post-acquisition disputes. Her commanding courtroom presence and tactical approach have made her a counsel of choice for multifaceted disputes across jurisdictions nationwide.

Sybil is also a leader in the community, whose impact extends far beyond her legal practice through her groundbreaking work in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and her dedicated board service. In 2018, she co-founded Greene Espel's DEI practice, developing strategic solutions for organizations nationwide. She has also emerged as a nationally recognized speaker on topics related to artificial intelligence and the law. She speaks to clients and professional organizations across the country on topics such as the ethical use of AI and recognizing bias in AI.
