Kshithij Shrinath Named by Cultured Magazine as One of 13 Change Agents in the Nation on the 2026 Young Activists List

Cultured Magazine selected Greene Espel attorney Kshithij Shrinath as one of the 13 Change Agents in the nation as part of its 2026 Young Activists List. To mark the United States of America’s semiquincentennial, Cultured Magazine asked 13 activists, including Gloria Steinem, Stacey Abrams, and David Hogg, to nominate an organizer under 35 who has the potential to shape the years ahead. Omar Jadwat, Director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, nominated Kshithij for his leading role on the legal team challenging unconstitutional stops and arrests by immigration agents in Minnesota.

Kshithij is a skilled advocate in complex, high-impact litigation. He has secured significant victories to protect the fundamental human rights of fellow Minnesotans, particularly immigrants. Earlier this year, he helped lead a large team of attorneys from Greene Espel, the ACLU of Minnesota, and local and national firms in a lawsuit challenging immigration enforcement tactics during Operation Metro Surge. After an evidentiary hearing in which Minnesotans testified about their experiences being stopped without reasonable suspicion and arrested without probable cause, the federal court issued an opinion documenting the widespread use of racial profiling by federal agents in Minnesota.

Additionally, Kshithij served as co-counsel on a habeas petition that secured the release of a young father detained by ICE in retaliation for his political speech, and he obtained a preliminary injunction in emergency litigation for students facing deportation due to unlawful terminations of their immigration status. Beyond his pro bono work, Kshithij maintains a broad litigation practice, representing clients in complex commercial, constitutional, and regulatory disputes involving substantial legal, financial, and operational stakes.
